 Hi, fellow entrepreneur. Everybody is talking about RSS and Blogs on the Web. And although it is in my opinion nothing more then just another distribution channel, I will explain to you:
1. What RSS is.
2. What you can do with RSS.
3. How you can read RSS.
4. How you can set up your own RSS feeds.

1. What is RSS?
In order to be able to understand how you use RSS, you should first understand what it actually is. RSS is:
"RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a new, more and more popular technology which to some degree replaces email newsletters and allows you to easily track changes on your favorite websites, blogs, news articles and more!"
In the next paragraph of this article we will explain to you what you can do with RSS.
2. What can you do with RSS?
So now you know what RSS is, the next question is what you can do with it?.
RSS feeds bring automatically updated information straight to your desktop. You can monitor news, blogs, job listings, personals, and classifieds. More and more sites offer feeds, which you can identify by a small button that says either RSS or XML. However, if you click one of these links, you will most likely get a page full of code in your browser.
In the next paragraph we will explain to you how you can read RSS-feeds from others.
3. How can I read RSS?

To use RSS, you need a special RSS reader (RSS aggregator), either web-based,
such as My Yahoo or
Bloglines, Microsoft Outlook plugin (NewsGator)
or similar to other software, eg. Awasu or
FeedDemon for Windows and
NetNewsWare for Mac.
Many business owners like us also provide you with a link so that you can read RSS without having a Reader as a special service.

How can I set up my own RSS content feeds?
Now the next question from a business perspective is how you can set up your own RSS-feed? For us that has been easy. Instead of going for a separate service, we advice you to go to a provider like the one we use (click here)
that combines unlimited autoresponders, good client support and proactive anti-spam measures with a reliable e-mail delivery system.
In this way your create your content ONCE and you can combine e-mail with RSS in whatever combination you like.
With our account we got a separate RSS feed for every autoresponder. You can link to it on your website (by copying and pasting the code) or in your email messages.
You can publish new messages in RSS feed using Send Broadcast function. Just select the checkbox next to "Broadcast as RSS" label. You can send RSS broadcast at the same time as email broadcast.
Previous broadcasts (created before the introduction of RSS support) can be visible in your RSS feed as well. Just modify your RSS feed settings and set "Publish all broadcasts in RSS feed" option to "Yes".
In RSS feed settings you can also change many other feed options, including feed logo which will be visible in the majority of RSS readers, as well as feed title, description and feed owner link (eg. link to your homepage).
